Some of the runs take a long time to practice because of the fingering. I also spent so much time memorizing these runs from printed sheet music that as soon as I stopped practicing them, I couldn’t do them again. Sigh! The better I play, the more I realize that to do runs & fills in the flow, you must know how to work from the basic, simple structure of chords in root position & get easy inversions with simple handshape and finger tricks.
